Nightlife in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, basically a Chinese version of New York City, has a great nightlife, most of it taking place in Central, Hong Kong. One of the more popular places is called Lan Kwai Fong.

Lan Kwai Fong is a street of clubs, bars, pubs, and popular hangouts. Since it's an attraction, these places normally range on the somewhat expensive side.  Many non-Asian residents come here a lot because many know how to speak English here and you can get pretty good drinks.

It does get pretty crowded on the streets when it's Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. So, I recommend going on a Tuesday or Wednesday (Mondays and Sundays are never fun). Just be careful not to drink too much because the street is on a slope. We don't want you rolling down the road now.

Bring lots of money when you get here and don't bring any bottles with you. You can't bring them in. Also, I know this is probably bad for me to say, but it is pretty hard to tell how old a person is, especially when they're Asian and when it's dark out. There are a lot of underage girls and boys that get into these clubs because of these things and that sometimes the bouncer doesn't really care. The club or bar will still make money from these underage drinkers. Be careful who you talk to (and possibly hit on or get hit on), because some of these people may actually be 14 years old. And, if you have a Hong Kong ID, use it. If not, know all your information on your ID card. My sister got tested on every information her California ID card had.

Have fun!
